Cosmetic Surgery - The Best Way To Get A Better Looking And More Polished Look

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By James Hegarty For most people seeking a way to look good and improve their appearance cosmetic skin surgery is usually the most sought after option. Cosmetic surgery is a procedure that is undertaken by most people both young and old as well as men and women. With cost bearing on the minds of people who want to reverse aging or improve their looks better and more cost effective ways have been developed so a individuals can carry out cosmetic surgery without having to bear exorbitant costs. In the past the most common option available to people seeking to improve their appearance was liposuction and facelifts. These other forms of were usually aimed at changing the way an individual looked. Cosmetic surgery today has moved away from changing the way an individual looks and is more geared towards helping an individual look better or simply improve their look. The goal today is to help individuals look younger, healthier and more beautiful without altering their features. Cosmetic surgery procedures achieve this by utilizing a different approach. Rather than nicking or tucking parts of the skin away which is invasive, cosmetic surgery uses different types of fillers which are non invasive. For example rather than pulling skin around wrinkles to tighten it the filler method fills out the parts with skin fillers like botox to achieve a younger looking skin. The botox treatment is a very popular non invasive cosmetic surgery method as botox has many functions. It clears away wrinkles, as well frown and laugh lines while helping to relax muscles. Many people find that cosmetic surgery is the most effective and efficient way to correct unwanted feature. The best part is that it works and today is not as exorbitant as it used to be. Secrets to Making the “Great Law of Weight Loss” Work for You

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By Di Roberts The Great Law of Weight Loss looks really easy: Decrease your incomings and increase your outgoings. Burn more calories than you take in. That’s what all the books say. They make it sound so simple. If, for example, given your height, frame, age, gender, and normal level of activity, you normally burn about 2200 calories a day, all you have to do is decrease your calorie intake to 1200 calories a day and increase your activity an additional 250 calories worth by, say, walking three miles a day. Your deficit for each day, then, will be 1250 calories. Over a week that would be 8750 calories, which is 2.5 lbs at 3500 calories per pound, and 10 pounds gone per month. Simple, huh? Now let’s see the hands of everybody who has done that found that it works just like that. Anybody? If it’s a law then it should work all the time, right? Well, it does work just like that for a while, say 2 weeks or so, but Mother Nature has a few tricks in her bonnet. She is so adaptable. When she sees your body suffering on that 1200 calories, even divided up into six 200 calorie grazes, she worries you might be starving and so she adjusts your precious bodily metabolism so that you’re just more efficient and get through the day on fewer calories. Besides, living on 1200 calories a day, every day, gets to be a major pain after a while, even for those with the strongest willpower. It’s right on the verge of starvation and so, day after day, you’re always a bit hungry. After about a week of this, you’re REALLY hungry. And your calorie allowance doesn’t ever permit those goodies that make life so much more enjoyable. And, after a month or two, the scale reading isn’t budging much anymore so the incentive evaporates. So what’s a body to do? Mix things up, that’s what. If you keep doing exactly the same things in terms of numbers of calories per day, proportions of good carbos, protein, and good fat, and activity, the body adapts to that, gets more efficient and you stop losing weight. Instead of a flat 1200 calories a day, go two or three days in a row on the low side of 1200 calories and, then take an “eating” day. This isn’t a license to pig out. It means eating enough to reach your normal expenditure level as, in the example above, 2200 calories. You plan for this and incorporate those treats that you really like. You can have pizza, ice cream, brownies, one of those frothy coffee drinks, whatever floats your boat, IN MODERATION on your eating day. Not all of them on the same day, but something nice. This tells you body that you’re not starving and your psyche the same thing. You actually get to eat more and still lose weight. It’s also a good idea to change the ratio of calories from complex carbohydrates (the only kind we eat, right?), protein and (unsaturated) fat from time to time, within limits. The biochemical and physiological factors involved here can get pretty complex and beyond the scope of this short article, but you could try adopting a ratio of 40% of your calories from good carbs, 30% from protein, and no more than 30% (nor less than 10%) from fats as your usual mix. Then modify those ratios by no more than about 20% each (fat should only go down from 30%) from time to time and see how you feel. Your metabolism gets a boost every time you eat, so that’s why many experts recommend eating 5 or 6 small meals a day, rather than 3 or fewer. That doesn’t mean your total daily incoming has to be divided into 5 or 6 equal amounts, but a snack with fewer than 100 calories won’t do much to stop the hunger pangs or convince your body it has actually eaten something. Space these no more than 2 1/2 or 3 hours apart or your metabolism will go to sleep again. Mixing it up also applies to the frequency and intensity of your exercise. It’s really a big help if you get up and do something every half hour. I actually set an alarm. Every half hour I get up and do something for 5 minutes. This includes, especially, right after meals. You can take a fast walk. Do some pushups. Do some lunges or squats. Do some crunches. Practice high front kicks and back kicks. Just something fast enough and long enough to raise your body temperature (hint: guess where that heat is coming from!). Don’t do the same thing twice in a row - you need to use a different part of your body. This also does wonders for your concentration. You actually get a lot more done in those 30 minute spurts, knowing that you have to get it done in that segment, not to mention all that oxygen swirling in your brain. That’s in addition to your regular actual exercise periods. Keep jolting the metabolism. Mixing it up and adding jolts also goes for your exercise regime. If you just do the same thing every day, you won’t be making any progress before long. Mix up your low intensity walks with some rapid stair climbing. Mix up your jogging with some minute-or-two-long flat out sprints. Add in many reps of squats or lunges. Switch off the legs some days and do pushups, as many and bearing as much weight as you can possibly manage. Always check with your doctor first and don’t try to redress years of inactivity in the first week, but if you don’t challenge the body, it won’t make more muscle. There’s a lot more to be said about this “jolt” approach, but I think you have the basic idea by now. Give it a try and let me know how it goes for you. The Infamous Great Harlot: Who is She?

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

By Nevada York The Bible is inundated with symbolism and literalism. However, unless one is a theologian, its rather difficult to understand the many symbolic meanings in the Bible. For example, the book of Revelation describes A fiery red dragon waiting to devour a child from the woman giving birth, A beast rising up out of the sea with seven heads and ten horns, or The Great Harlot who made the inhabitants of the earth drunk with the wine of her fornication. What do these symbols mean? For the purpose of this article, I will focus on the identity of the Great Harlot. Who is she and what clues does the Bible give in her description? In ancient Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans had an organized religious systemsometimes referred to as Mysteries. Those behind the Babylonian religious system initiated the Mysteries. In his book, The Two Babylons, author Alexander Hishop maintains that the Babylonian Mysteries required the people to be bound neck and heel to the priest for the priest were the only depositions of religious knowledge; they (priest) only had the true tradition of how religion could be interpreted and without blind and implicit submission to the Babylon priest, what was necessary for salvation could not be known to the people. Many say that the Roman Catholic Church represents the Great Harlot. Is it possible that the Harlot stands for something more? Revelation further explains: The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. This title was written on her forehead: MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. (Rev. 17:4-5) How does the Great Harlot get the inhabitants of the world drunk? We must go back a bit, remember Babylon is famous for the Tower of Babel, where Nimrod organized a rebellion towards God. Due to this rebellion, God scattered the people and mixed their language. Yet the scattered people retained knowledge of the pagan religion. Not to mention, the inhabitants of Babylon had common knowledge of a prophetic scripture: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel. (Genesis 3:15.) Although this scripture was fulfilled once Jesus Christ defeated Satan at the cross, the people of Babylon distorted the truth of the scripture. They knew a womans seed (not a man and woman) would bring forth a Son (the Messiah) miraculously. The Babylonians wrongfully worshipped Semiramis, a woman deity and her son, Tammuz. From Babylon the origin of worshipping a Mother deity and Child continued spreading to the ends of the Earth. In Egypt, the woman deity and her son were worshipped under the names Isis and Osiris. In India, Isi and Iswara, in Asia, as Cybele and Deoius, Shing Moo, the Holy Mother in China (Hislop). Most interesting, in the Roman Catholic Church, the Virgin Mary follows the same pattern. Just consider the symbolic description of the Great Harlot: A woman holding a cup of wine which causes the entire world to get drunk. In 1825, Pope Leo XII, struck a medal bearing on the one side his own image and on the other, that of the Church of Rome symbolized as a Woman, holding in her left hand a cross, and in her right a CUP, with the legend around her Sedet Super Universum, which translates The whole world is her seat. Whenever someone claims to see an image of the Virgin Mary news organizations clamor to televise it. Just this year, someone paid over $20,000 for a piece of bread that was supposed to contain her image. The sightings of apparitions of the Virgin Mary have increased over the centuries. The Roman Catholic Church reveres Mary. Would you be surprised to know that the Muslims revere Mary also? Catholics and Muslims both use the rosary, also known as sibhah to Muslims. Rev. Charles Dickson, Ph.D., explains Mary has a universal appeal that transcends over cultural, geographical, and even religious boundaries. Many believe that the Virgin Mary will be used a stepping stone to connect a universal one-world religion under the same umbrella. People get emotional just at the sight of an image of the Virgin Mary and when these images speak the world appears to be spellbound. Hislop claims in his book, The image of the beast is pronounced to be the Virgin Mother or the Madonna. This isnt hard to fathommany worship and pray to Mary via the Catholic Church. Image will have both life and voice, and will be an effective agent of Papal clergy, who will make it speak exactly as they please. People need to consider who they are praying to. According to the Bible, neither the Virgin Mary, nor the saints (Paul, Peter, Thomas, etc), or Allah, can offer salvation. For the Bible states, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name (Jesus Christ of Nazareth) under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)” What is the fate of the Great Harlot? And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will [be the very ones to] hate the harlot (the idolatrous woman); they will make her cheerless (bereaved, desolate), and they will strip her and eat up her flesh and utterly consume her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to carry out His own purpose by acting in harmony in surrendering their royal power and authority to the beast, until the prophetic words (intentions and promises) of God shall be fulfilled (Rev. 17:16-17). The ten horns are the confederated kingdoms of the Anti-Christ and for whatever reason turns against the harlot and consumes her with fire. Revelations describes the future Babylon with the same characteristics of the Harlot before its ultimate destruction. For all nations have drunk the wine of her passionate unchastity, and the rulers and leaders of the earth have joined with her in committing fornication (idolatry), and the businessmen of the earth have become rich with the wealth of her excessive luxury and wantonness. (Rev. 18:3) Pastor John Hagee put this in perspective: Babel introduced the first organized, idolatrous religious system in the history of the world. Thats why Apostle John calls Babylon the Mother of Harlots (Rev 17:5). Babylon was the birthplace (mother) of spiritual adultery. It makes sense that the Great Harlot will end where she began. To many the symbolism through out Revelation is a deterrent, people say they dont understand it. However, Revelation makes a promise few books in the Bible do. Jesus promises: And behold, I am coming speedily. Blessed (happy and to be envied) is he who observes and lays to heart and keeps the truths of the prophecy (the predictions, consolations, and warnings) contained in this [little] book. (Rev:7) You are blessed for simply reading the book of Revelation, read it. You may understand it more than you think. Nevada York, Author of Caught Up and Mahogany’s Revelation, released her latest book in July of 2004 to rave reviews from readers. Nevada’s published novels are an accomplishment that has been well worth the wait. Not willing to be deterred, her determination has bought about the publication of two memorable novels. http://nevadayork.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Nevada_York http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Infamous-Great-Harlot:-Who-is-She?&id=334753 zolpidem generic ambien ambien coupon sample ambien dreams buy ambien on line without a prescription

Creative Wedding Ideas To Highlight Your Unique Personalities

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

By Rose Smith Would you like to add some pizzazz and distinction to your wedding day? These innovative ideas will give your ceremony and reception a unique feel and can be used with any wedding theme. Create a Memory Candle Most couples light a Unity Candle during their wedding vows, but here’s an additional idea to implement into your own ceremony. On a table near the entrance set up a memory candle to honor those that could not be with you on this joyous occasion. Print up a card that contains the names of family members and close friends that you wish to remember in your hearts. As an extra special touch, print out a second card with a meaningful poem, verse or lyrics to a song. Frame both cards and place them next to the lit candle. Turn Your Monogrammed Initials Into A Family Crest It is popular nowadays to have invitations and wedding accessories monogrammed with the couple’s initials. Why not take it a step further and have your initials designed into a new family crest using symbols reflecting an important interest that each of you have and one common interest that you have together. Create Memories With A Photo Guestbook/Scrapbook Paste some of your favorite photos onto the pages of a typical guestbook or scrapbook. Leave space on each page so that guests can sign their names and invite them to leave some advice or comments as well. Everyone will enjoy looking at the pictures you’ve included and you’ll have a lovely keepsake filled with fond memories to take home. Spice Up The “First Dance” I recently watched a video clip online where the bridal party started off the reception, not with the traditional “bride and groom” dance, but with a choreographed dance to the soundtrack of Michael Jackson’s song Thriller. It was quite creative and the guests loved it. Why not do something similar? Pick a favorite song and get your attendants together to practice some choreographed moves to entertain your own guests. It can be as simple as learning to do the tango or a line dance together up to something more complicated like copying the moves in a video music clip. However, stick with whatever you and your attendant’s feel most comfortable with. As you can see, you don’t need to go overboard and spend a lot of money to add some special touches or inject a little personality. The nice thing about the above suggestions is that you don’t have to choose to do just one… you and your partner can do them all! Marvellous May Plant Colour

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

By James Kilkelly Many plants vie for my attention during the month of May. Here are four of my favourites. Cornus alternifolia Argenta Cornus alternifolia Argenta is commonly known as the Variegated pagoda dogwood. Originating in Asia, its common name relates to its shape which resembles a sacred tower in China. This large deciduous shrub or small tree can have ultimate height of 3 metres (9ft); with a spread of approx 2 metres (6ft). Within the next week its layers of slim branches are dotted with clusters of star shaped yellowish-white flowers, followed by blue-black fruits. A special mention for the bright green leaves edged yellow which turn reddish-purple in autumn. You can use the Variegated pagoda dogwood as a large specimen shrub or as a small tree simply by removing any lower branches as they appear, this will create a clear stem and a showy canopy. To ensure quickest growth you must position this plant in full sun. I would highly recommend this dogwood if you have limited space and require a tree that will not over-power you garden. Many garden centres may not have it in stock but it is only a phone-call to their suppliers away, and well worth waiting for. Kolkwitzia amablis Pink Cloud Kolkwitzia amablis Pink Cloud is commonly known as the Beauty bush. This fast growing deciduous shrub is a native of China and grows to an ultimate height of 3 metres (9ft); with a spread of approx 2.5 metres (7 to 8 ft). Because of this size and its slightly old fashioned mounded look it is not a shrub I see planted in many new gardens. This is unfortunate as the Beauty bush lives up to its name whilst in flower. For at least the 3 weeks you can expect to see showy masses of bell shaped pink flowers with a yellow throat. These flowers are held amongst its small oval grey-green leaves on slightly arching branches. Kolkwitzia amablis Pink Cloud requires a position that receives upwards of 4 hours sunlight a day in a soil that is limey or alkaline. If you are looking for a specimen shrub or a larger shrub for the rear of a bed then do not over-look this old time stalwart. Ribes sanguineum Ribes sanguineum commonly known as the Flowering Currant. This large deciduous shrub can have ultimate height of 3 metres (9ft); with a spread of approx 3 metres (9ft). A native to the United States, it is frost hardy and right now is laden down with pendulous reddish pink flowers. These flowers which resemble miniature bunches of grapes are held amongst light green leaves from mid to late spring. Both the flowers and leaves are scented, the leaves especially so when bruised or crushed. The Flowering Currant is mostly used in the mixed border as a showy specimen plant although I have also used it in whip planting schemes to good effect. If you would like to cut some flowering stems to bring indoors, they will last approx 6 to 10 days. To ensure quick growth plant in a position with full to partial sun and an adequate supply of water. I would highly recommend this shrub if you have a problem growing plants due to air pollution as it is very resistant to exhaust fumes etc. Two varieties to look out for are Pulborough Scarlet and King Edward VII Alyssum saxitile The clump forming perennial Alyssum saxitile is commonly known as the Basket of gold. This native of Europe is evergreen and grows no higher than 20 cm (8 inches); it has a spread of approx 30cm (1ft). Because of its size and its ability to tolerate drought it is ideal for planting in cracks in your paving, crevices in your walls and of course in the rockery. For at least the next 4 weeks you can expect to see clusters of tiny vibrant yellow flowers above its grey-green leaves. Alyssum saxitile requires a position which drains freely and receives upwards of 4 hours sunlight a day. If you would like to attract some butterflies to your garden then plant clusters of Alyssum throughout, sit back and watch as the yellow flowers draw them in. Kids Homemade Party Hat Ideas

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

By Patricia Jensen Try these one-of-a-kind kids party hat ideas for your next kids party. Create a colorful cast of characters with a few bits of paper, paint, glitter and glue. From fancy bonnets to sombreros, wizard cone hats to princess crowns. Learn how to make them all with simple craft and homemade materials. FANCY TISSUE PAPER BONNET Have child sit to be “fitted” for their bonnet. To form the hat’s crown, place three pieces of 25 to 30 inch wrapping paper and/or colorful tissue paper on child’s head. Newspaper works fine too. Make sure the right side of the bottom paper faces down, so the underside of the hat will have color/pattern too. For a taller hat, place a rolled newspaper ball on child’s head before fashioning bonnet. Arrange the papers at different angles so the paper points are fanned out in different directions. Wrap masking tape around the child’s head a couple of times at approximately ear level. Next, trim or roll the newspaper up to form the hat brim. For a derby hat, roll to within an inch or two from the band and add a feather. To make a floppy bonnet, glue a ribbon sash over the masking tape band and add silk flowers. For a sombrero, add a fringe of paper or fabric to the edge of the brim. Encourage children to further embellish their hats with paint, markers, ribbon, crepe paper, silk flowers, fabric, gift bows, pompoms, buttons, sequins, etc. CONE-SHAPED WIZARD OR PRINCESS HATS Roll a heavy weight piece of paper into a cone shape. Tape or staple to secure. Trim bottom edge if necessary to give it a nice rounded shape. Decorate the hat with paint, glitter, and other embellishments. Use gift wrap or scrapbooking papers for specific themes. For a princess hat, run a piece of tulle through the top of the hat, or hot glue some maribou (boa) trim to the bottom. For a wizard hat, use a solid color and decorate with foil moon, star and planet shapes. Glow-in-the-dark stars would work great too. Poke a hole in each side of the hat along the bottom edge. Run a knotted piece of ribbon or lightweight elastic through each hole to hold on child’s head. LITTLE PRINCESS HEAD WREATH Cut a piece of cellophane wire to fit your child’s head. (This type of wire has foil shapes attached to it and can be used to decorative a package instead of ribbon) Take several pieces of curling ribbon, curl on end then tie to the back of the headband. Use bright complementary colors that will look reallypretty flowing down your little girl’s back. NEWSPAPER SAILOR HAT Take one large newspaper sheet folded in half. You can also use wrapping paper for a pretty patterned hat, or plain paper to decorate on your own. A 16 x 19 piece is the right size to fit a child’s head. Lay the rectangle on the table and fold each side evenly at a 45 degree angle to meet the middle crease. This makes a pointed top. Fold the bottom edges up, each to their own side, overlapping the two triangles. Tape to hold if necessary. Open up to try on your homemade hat. VISOR HAT Visors are an popular type of party hat. Inexpensive foam visors with an telephone-cord type band can be purchased from craft stores. They come in many bright colors and can be decorated with glitter paints and pre-cut foam pieces such as flower and bugs. Make your own visor by cutting out the center of a paper plate to make a band to fit on the child’s head. Then cut the round plate center into a half-circle and staple it to the band. Decorate as desired. Copyright 2005 Kids Party Paradise All Rights Reserved Patricia B. Jensen is a mother of three and kids party enthusiast. So You Want To Go Organic Farming

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

By Rose Rushton Okay what’s involved? First of all going organic is as much of a mindset as a practical decision. If you put the whole farm under organics, you may find the returns are going to be less per acre. For us it was not a hard decision as we were not using chemicals. So we opted for the whole farm. However, if you have been using chemicals up until now, you may be better to only do part of the property. You have to realise that all the nutrients are locked up in the soil through the use of chemical fertilisers, and it will take a while for those to be released. As time goes by this happens relatively fast. Let us use the analogy of you deciding to stop smoking after 20 years or so. You can’t expect that after the first week of stopping that your lungs would be clear. So it is with the soil. It does take time to recover but when it does, you will be surprised how much feed you have that stock actually “want” to eat. So, you have got this far in your thinking, you now need to contact a certifying body in your country to start to become certified organic. The next decision, is whether you are going to “give it a trial” or “jump straight in”. We would suggest to jump straight in. The reason for this is that when you do this you are accountable to somebody else and you will stay on track a lot easier. If you just give it a go, you will betempted to revert back to using chemicals. The number of people we have met, when finding out that we are organic say “Yes, we are as well”. However, sometimes we are not long into the conversation, when they mention that they have just sprayed with a little Roundup, but they know that is okay. No! It is not! No chemicals at all are the criteria for an organic farm. You will need to cross many hurdles, including your neighbours feelings that somehow, you are stopping them from spraying their crops and carrying on their business. If they are following safe practices, then their farming operation will not be affected. This is purely a knee jerk reaction to something they do not properly understand. “ABOUT THE AUTHORS”: Vic & Rose Rushton are recognised as leading authorities on organic farming. Men’s Gold Wedding Rings

Friday, February 15th, 2008

By Eric Morris Gold wedding rings are the most traditional rings available. When mens wedding rings first became popular during the Second World War, gold was the metal of choice. Over the years, other metals have been introduced into the market. Nevertheless, gold has continued to have a strong presence as the preferred metal for wedding bands. Pure gold is too weak to be used for jewelry purposes, so it is always alloyed with at least one additional metal to ensure strength and durability. Pure gold would be 24 karats, but most man gold wedding rings will either be 14 karats or 18 karats. When a ring is marked as being 14 karats, that means that it is approximately 58.3 percent gold, whereas an 18 karat ring is 75 percent pure gold. Obviously, an 18 karat gold ring would be more susceptible to wear and tear, as it is more gold, and thus weaker than 14 karat gold. Some man gold wedding ring purchasers may prefer a more silver tone to their ring. For them, white gold is the answer. White gold is simply yellow gold that has been treated to look white (or silver). In order to make the yellow gold appear white, elements such as nickel, palladium, or silver are added. While nickel itself can give a good white gold appearance, it is often allergenic and can cause skin problems to anyone who is sensitive to nickel. Gold that is alloyed with palladium and silver will not usually cause allergies, and most 18 karat gold is alloyed only with these two metals. One problem with white gold is that, since it has the same properties as yellow gold, it will begin to look more yellow over time. In fact, many white gold rings have to be re-plated after several years in order to restore it to its original color. Despite the fact that yellow and white gold does not have the durability has other metals, it is still a popular choice for man wedding ring buyers.
