Would you prefer that the mini blinds be positioned on the inside of the window or be hung on the outside? The benefit to choosing to mount the mini blind inside the window is that a designer look is achieved. On the other hand, if being able to control the amount of light coming into the room is of primary importance, mounting the mini blinds on the outside of the window is a better choice. To install the mini blind on the inside of the window frame, the first step in the procedure is to determine where the brackets will be positioned across the top of the window. Women, if you have your eyes set on landing that gorgeous Playgirl centerfold or the hot model you find in magazines or the Harlequin romance novel guy let me put your mind at ease. Its not going to happen unless you are a Playboy centerfold, hot model in mens magazines or the hot movie starlet. Myth: The average male is a hard body. - When a woman is asked what their perfect man would be like 9 out of 10 times the first thought that will come to their mind is the clean cut, pointed jaw, v-shaped body with hard six pack abs, dark skinned, tall and handsome guy. That is their first thought. It might not be what comes out of their mouths but it is the first thing that comes to mind. Its fine ladies. You are free to think what you want. Truth be told though, those types tend to be very shallow. Their thought is they wont be with a woman unless she is equal in good looks. Doesnt matter how she is emotionally or her mental capacity. She could be dumber than a doorknob but as long as she looks as good as he does thats all that matters. So dream on. Lets look at what is REALLY out there and who you will end up with. The average man will be slightly overweight, have a two day beard, will be wearing clothes that he wore yesterday, hair will be a mess, and will be as white as a ghost. Yes, this is the average American male. This is by far the majority of the male population but, for the most part, they are very devoted and appreciative of the woman they are with. Typically this will be Sundays and Mondays and those are times they are to be left alone. Well, lets dispel this myth. Sure they may like sports and develop a real interest in sports, there is nothing wrong with that, but had the pressures not been there, far fewer would have developed the interest. They dont sit and watch the game every Sunday. They probably couldnt even tell you who the quarterback is for Dallas much less who played in the Super Bowl last year. When their buddies at work discuss the weekend game they will listen intently but will offer little to the conversation. Truth be told they would rather have their minds doing something else like play video games, computer games, surf the web, read a book or newspaper, putter around the house, build things, break things or anything other than talk about sports. Ladies I will give you this one. Yes, men do lie on a regular basis. There is no excuse for it and Im not going to tell you different or really justify it. I am going to give you an answer as to why they do. A little peek into the male psyche. Men lie. A lot. Women do too but this is about men and I am not a woman so I cant give you the reasons why they do. Why do we lie? Sure there are the inexcusable lies such as I didnt sleep with her when you are sitting on Maury and he is holding a DNA test that shows you are the father. No excuse and definitely wrong. But what about the so-called little white lies? Ladies admit it. When you have tried on three outfits and come out and ask him if this one looks good on you what do you expect him to say? That you look fat or it looks ugly on you? If he did, it would probably turn into a fight about how he doesnt think you look beautiful anymore and that he thinks you are fat or that he doesnt love you anymore. Followed up with I dont have anything to wear so we are not going to the party. So to avoid that he may tell you it looks fine. This is probably followed by a few moments of silence, which is possibly followed by a question of why you want to go to the mall. This is a stall tactic to give him time to think. Here is what is going through his head: I really dont want to go wander the mall I would rather stay home and either watch TV read get on the computer or putter around in the garage or yard but she wants me to go and if I say no she is going to be mad or feel like I dont want to spend time with her that I dont care about her anymore and am distant from her and there is someone else or there are things Id would rather do than spend time with her. (Take a breath that was the fast stream of thought that took place in about two seconds) So ladies you then ask the question again followed with You dont have to go if you dont want to. Again there are a few seconds of silence. The man is thinking; Whew I dont have to go if I dont want to but she said that like she really wants me to go and if I say I dont want to then she is going to be mad or upset and and and damn. Sure, we can go to the mall. Which she says, I know we can but do you want to go? You dont have to. And we as dutiful men not wanting to hurt your feelings even though we really dont want to go finally say, Sure. Ill go. Yes we lied again. Why? We didnt want to get into an argument or hurt your feelings. Its not necessarily a wrong action that drives the lie. Sure, like I said there are some lies that are truly wrong and inexcusable. The small lies are not so much to cover something up but in their mind to avoid disappointing you or to protect you from something that could possibly hurt you. Seize this opportunity to give your guests an unexpected surprise while sharing an important part of yourself with them. While tradition still has its place, most Brides and Grooms are now choosing to use non-traditional wedding ceremony music. Many of the old standbys, such as Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus” (Here Comes The Bride), are being replaced with other alternatives. Those about to wed have requested Slow Rock, Love Songs, Latin Guitar, New Age, Classic 40’s Vocals, Pop Songs, Oldies and just about everything else. Choosing Your Songs The first step is just to think of songs you like. You can edit your ideas later. Make a short list of songs that relate to how you feel about love, commitment and a special shared relationship. Feel free to consider all options. Once you’ve made your list you can then edit it for potential Processional Song candidates. Remember that in general, a Processional Song should have a slow cadence for those walking down the aisle. Here Comes The Bride Should all the songs in your ceremony have a consistent sound or theme? Not necessarily. A contrasting style between the Wedding Party Processional and the Bride’s song can emphasize this important change. An example of this was when one couple chose an operatic, Andrea Bocelli piece for their Wedding Party Processional. The song was full of drama and grand expression. In stark contrast to this was their choice for the Bride’s Processional. They decided on the romantic and reflective acoustic guitar sound of “The Rain Song” by Led Zeppelin. The pronounced difference in song styles increased the poignancy of the Bride’s appearance and the entire ceremony. While these songs aren’t for everyone, they reflected this couple’s taste and preferences. It also serves as a wonderful demonstration of the power of a musical style change and original choices. Classical instrumental still has its place. Recently a Bride chose a lesser known classical piece for her walk down the aisle. “Variations on an Original Theme (Enigma Variations) Op. 36″ is a fantastic selection for this. It’s a powerful song that uses soaring strings and majestic horns to slowly build to its peak. We edited it so that the crescendo of the song timed perfectly with the Bride’s appearance. Another Bride-to-be chose “Once Upon a Time… Storybook Love” from the movie The Princess Bride. The title track from Cirque du Soleil’s “O” is another captivating piece that many have fallen in love with. “Variations and Fugue On a Theme by Mozart, Op. 132: Variation 7″ is a traditional classical piece that is rarely heard at ceremonies. The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra’s version is breathtakingly elegant. If you’re going Classical for the wedding ceremony music, remember that there may be quite a few different versions of many songs. It may take a little research to find the perfect one but it is well worth the effort. Recessional The end of the ceremony Recessional is a time for joy and celebration. You will walk triumphantly, back up the aisle, for the first time as a married couple. As you pass by smiling, applauding guests, let the music add an extra highlight to this moment. Your Recessional music should be upbeat and energetic. Again, choices are plentiful. Past requests include Classical, Rock, Swing and R & B. Songs by Vivaldi, Harry Connick, James Brown, U2, Barry White, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Queen, Marvin Gaye and many others have worked to great effect. Where To Look For Music If you have a favorite movie soundtrack or radio station, your perfect song may be something you have already heard. Next time you hear a song that really grabs you, make a note of it. One of the best places to find unique musical ideas is right in your own CD collection. Chances are there’s a favorite song in there you may have forgotten about that would be perfect. Browse through your music library and add to your list of possibilities. Do you have a favorite artist or concert performance? What was that old song you loved when you were younger? Is there a brand new song you really like? A newer song can be a refreshing change from the status quo. And there is less chance anybody else has already used it for their wedding. Perhaps there is something in your family heritage you would like to incorporate musically into the ceremony. If you have a special moment in the ceremony for a candle lighting, rose exchange, remembrance or other tradition, you may want to choose a song to be played for this as well. Contrasting music is good and emphasizes an important change in the Processional. Be dynamic in your choices and create a new sound experience for your guests.
