How the Subconscious Reasons When It Communicates With You About Pain Relief

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

By Ben Plumb The subconscious is a strange creature. It doesn’t know what day it is, and can’t add two and two. But it seems to know what may be causing your pain. The subconscious has no ability to reason inductively, meaning that it can’t use reason to take specific observations (for example, “two plus two”) and arrive at general conclusions about them (for example, “equals four”). Instead it often uses blind association to arrive at general conclusions, sometimes linking things that make no logical sense. For example, if as a child you burned your hand on the exhaust pipe of a car when a tall man walked by, your subconscious may believe that tall people make exhaust pipes hot. Yet despite these and other limitations the subconscious maintains subtle mastery over brain chemistry, regulates hundreds of life-giving processes, stores every word you ever heard or read, and orchestrates massive defenses when alien organisms invade your body. From the General to the Specific No matter how the subconscious obtains its general conclusions, whether through instinct, genetic programming, blind association, or other means, it does have the ability to apply those conclusions to specific cases. That is, while it can’t go from the specific to the general, it does have the ability to do the reverse, to go from the general to the specific. Said another way, it has the ability to reason deductively. Apparently that level of reasoning is sufficient for it to be able to answer questions about the workings of the body. For example, it seems to know that in general when joints are out of alignment, nerves tend to get pinched. So when it is asked if a visualization statement about the alignment of joints would help alleviate your pain, it is able to answer Yes or No. The Role of Visualization Statements Visualization statements represent the specific language that your subconscious wants you to read back to it to help ease your pain. Theyre simple and are targeted directly at the main factors that could bring you relief. You can obtain these statements by learning how to communicate directly with your own subconscious mind. The process is straightforward and can be done at home by working with a facilitator over the telephone. You you need no special skills and no previous experience in working with the subconscious. This approach may be helpful in addressing back pain or pain in other extremities, arthritis pain, fibromyalgia pain, or neuropathic pain (nerve pain). Engaging the Subconscious The subconscious is quite powerful. When programmed through the very visualizations that it suggests, it may be able to turn episodes of uncontrolled pain into events over which you have a degree of control. Ben Plumb is CEO and President of The Visualization Group, Inc. The companys service is delivered by people like himself who personally suffered from years of chronic pain, and used the visualization method described in this article to obtain relief when nothing else worked. How to Set Up & Organize Your Customer Mailing List For Optimum Results

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

By DeAnna Spencer Your list of customers who have previously bought from you is your most important asset. These are the customers who will provide you with return business, which is more profitable than the first sale. But, are you getting the most from your customer list? There are some secrets you should know, so you can squeeze the most benefits out of your mailing list. Most business’ customer lists consist of this information: Name, Address, City, State, Zip. That’s it. Unfortunately, this mailing list is almost worthless. You need to have more information in your files than just that. One mail order operator has a customer database with 32 information fields! You should be able to set these up in your computer’s database, or, if you don’t use a computer(you REALLY should), all this information should fit on a large size index card in a card file. Here are some more useful fields to include in your customer database: LastName; FirstName; Title; Position; CompanyName; Address1; Address2; City; State; Zip; PerPhone; BusPhone; FaxPhone; InqDate; ReferSource; FollowUp1; FollowUp2; SubDate; SubAmount; RenewDate;Purch1; Purch1Date; Purch1Amount; Purch2; Purch2Date; Purch2Amount; Purch3; Purch3Date; Purch3Amount; TotAmount; Comments; Cust# The first 10 fields (reading across) should be self-explanatory. Almost any address possible can be put into my database without having to leave out information or abbreviate. The next three are for phone numbers. You MUST have your customer’s phone numbers, when possible, to be able to follow up quickly and efficiently. Making one phone call can be the difference between a big sale and NO sale. The InqDate field is where you record the date the customer first inquired about your products and services, and the date you sent the information, since it’s always the same day (there’s no excuse not to follow up your inquiries on the same day you receive them). This information, coupled with the ReferSource field, tells you when your ads are hitting, and how quickly people are responding to them. If you see that inquiries are coming in slowly, or long after the ad is out, you know that you need more action incentives in my next ad. The ReferSource field is where you enter the “key” from my ad. You should use a letter code after my street address to indicate which publication and issue the inquiry comes from. You should also code your mailings, for the same reason. You enter a date into the two FollowUp fields to indicate when you want to send follow up literature to customers who don’t order on the first try. You should put a date two weeks from the InqDate in FollowUp1, and one two weeks later than that in FollowUp2. Then, every day, you should run a search on these two fields to pull up any records that have today’s date as a follow up date. You canteen print labels and put them on the envelopes and literature you have ready for follow ups.You should use the next three fields (SubDate, SubAmount, RenewDate) forth newsletter you publish (if you decide to publish one). These would have the date you receive their subscription, the amount they paid (You should sometimes run special prices), and the date you want to send subscription renewal information (usually 10 1/2 months from the SubDate). You can then print labels in the same manner as you do for the FollowUp fields.Next come the Purchase fields. You should have three sets of purchase fields, one for each purchase the customer makes. In the Purch1field, enter a code for the product they have purchased. The other two fields get the date and amount of the purchase. The second and third sets of fields get the same information for the customers second and third purchases. The best customers to mail offers to are the ones that have purchased within the last90 days, so you don’t have to worry about many customers making more than three purchases during that time period (though I hope they will!). If someone does make a fourth purchase, move the second and third sets of data up to the first and second lines, and enter the new purchase information in the third data set. These fields are extremely important. You can instantly pull up a list of customers that have purchased within the past 90 days, or60 days, or 30 days, or even 15 days. When you rent out your house mailing list, this information is vital. The rental amount you can charge increases as the amount of time since the customer’s purchase decreases. The next field in my database is TotAmount, which contains a formula to calculate the total dollar amount that the customer has purchased from me to date. The Comments field is used to store any miscellaneous information about the customer that you think is important to know.Use the final field, Cust#, for a specially coded customer number that you assign each customer. Use this code to identify the recipient of any commissions you may pay to customers who have brought business my way. That’s a lot of information, and you may be wondering why I would need all of that. Well, I’ve already told you how to use the purchase data fields for identifying the “age” of the customers. You can also use the TotAmount field to compile a list of customers who have bought more than a certain amount from you. Together, these field searches can be used to produce a customized mailing list of, for example, customers who have bought more than $50 in the past 30 days. These would be the most responsive people to mail to, and would render the highest rental rate of my customer list. You can also use certain mailing list fields to identify people who should be dropped from my list. For example, you can search for customers with FollowUp2 dates that are four weeks past todays date, and TotAmounts of zero. These customers could be erased from the list. Or, you could leave them on file, and put a word or two in the Comments field reminding you not to mail anything else to them, in case they inquire again. This saves me the cost of mailing something to someone who probably won’t respond. They might, but chances are they won’t.Finally, if you get a customer who has returned too many orders, or has defrauded you in some way, you can put that information in the Comments field. Then, if they order again, when their file comes up, you will see their history, and can use extra caution with them. As you can see, if you use foresight when initially setting up your customer list, you will have a valuable tool that you cause to increase your order potential, increase your income through specialized list rental, and decrease your mailing costs by eliminating “deadwood” from your list. This is one of the most important methods you can use to increase your chances of success.Copyright 2004 by DeAnna Spencer DeAnna Spencer is a virtual assistant that helps entrepreneurs run a successful business by providing affordable administrative help. The Importance Of Moisturizing

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

By Sher Matsen The age of your skin has no bearing on whether you should moisturize. Even women in their 20s should us a good moisturizer to keep their skin young and supple for many years, and of course to help stave off those wrinkles. Dry skin can occur at any age. When your skin is dry it is unable to retain enough moisture. Dry skin results in flaking, red blotchy patches, and it may be itchy. There are many causes of dry skin ranging from cold dry air especially in the winter months, to medication you are taking, to hormones. Research has also shown that yo-yo dieting can cause severe stretches to skin resulting in lost elasticity. This can cause the face to wrinkle and sag prematurely. Sun tanning is also known for causing premature aging and wrinkling of the skin. Experts believe the skin is a smart organ that has a memory. That is why some people have crows feet around the eyes from squinting or smile wrinkles from smiling. If the face forms a specific expression over time, the skin remembers and automatically folds to that form. So stop frowning!! Women are under the misconception that if the skin is dry it need oil. Actually what it needs is water or moisture to rejuvenate it. Thats why too much cleaning can do more damage than good. The best time to apply moisturizer is on damp skin. It then traps the moisture between the cream and the skin so it can be absorbed. The best moisturizer is really dependant on your skin type. There are plenty of products to choose from all claiming to make you look younger. However there is no research available to actually determine which creams work or dont work. There is no question some are better than others but dont believe for a moment that because it cost more its superior. The best moisturizers are non-comedogenic, non-greasy and non-irritating formulation that contains a superior system of emollients and natural ingredients to nourish the skin. So dont wait until your 40 or 50 to start moisturizing. Rather start young and keep those laugh lines and fine wrinkles at bay. Be good to your skin and it will reward you with years of youthful healthy looking skin! Copyright Sher Matsen, All Rights Reserved. A Wedding Band: Traditional or Cultural?

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Stephanie Tuia My mother wears a simple gold wedding band, whereas some of my married friends wear decorative wedding bands featured with stones, engravings and unique designs. So what is considered trendy these days? What does your wedding ring look like or what do you want your ring to look like when you get married? In earlier decades, women, like my mother, opted for the traditional wedding band, noting simplicity and low-maintenance. Perhaps there werent many options of bands back then, other than just being silver or gold. Today, many young people anticipating marriage are thinking outside the box, being open to a collection of unique wedding bands. Well-traveled or exposed to different cultures, engaged couples might not follow earlier generations with the simple wedding bands. Here are just a few close ups of cultures that offer distinctive wedding bands. The Russian Wedding Band-Designed with three rings intertwined to form a single ring, the Russian wedding band adds thickness and texture to its appearance. With Russian wedding bands, you can diversify the rings with multi-color tones, adding a colorful touch to your wedding band. The Claddagh Ring-Popular in Irish culture, the Claddagh ring is composed of three symbols; a heart, held by two hands, and topped with a crown. The heart represents love, the hands mark friendship and the crown denotes loyalty, three elements that symbolize a devoted commitment to each other. Hawaiian Wedding Band-With a Hawaiian wedding band, your spouses name is embossed on the ring, commonly engraved in Old English font. You can opt for a more visible view with the name in black lettering or just keep it blended in with the band. What better design than having your spouses name engraved? Symbolism of the wedding band After discussing the several possibilities of distinctive bands, its important to shift emphasis on the symbolism of wedding bands. The wedding band represents a love that has no end. Despite global cultures that reflect their own unique dcor to a band, the idea of a wedding band is universal. So whether or not you decide on a traditional or cultural wedding band, keep in mind of the true importance of wedding band symbolization; that is the never-ending love that you will share with your spouse. Harris Michael Jewelry offers a traditional choice of wedding bands to a cultural approach with our claddagh rings. Types of Buddhism

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

By Tony Ha There are two types of Buddhas. And both seemingly reach a level of enlightenment called Nirvana, the end of suffering (while still alive here on Earth) and acquire some supernatural powers. This is a brief about both types of Buddhas. In the Pali Canon, a collection of 16 volumes containing12,800 pages of translation about communications about the study of Buddha Dharmas ideaology / spirituality, the transcripts reference two types of Buddhas. These are Samyaksambuddha or Sammasambuddha and Pratyeka Buddha or Paccekabuddha. A brief description of each follows. Samyaksambuddhas (Pali: Sammasambuddha) Students of this order reach Buddhahood. Then they teach other people about the truth or enlightenment of Buddha Dharma and teaching his methodology / philosophy / ideology / religion, guiding them to a sense of spiritual awakening. Siddhartha Gautama, referred to as The Historical Buddha, fits in this category type, described as a Samyak-sambuddha. Pratyekabuddhas (Pali: Paccekabuddha) Somewhat similar to the Samyaksambuddhas above in that they reach the state of Nervana with powers, this type of Buddha is also known as Silent Buddhas, becuase they decided to not share their knowledge with others. Disciples of a Sammasambuddha are called Savakas (hearers or followers) or Arahants (Noble One). These terms have slightly varied meanings but can all be used to describe the enlightened disciple. Anubuddha is a rarely used term, but was used by the Buddha in the Khuddakapatha as to those who become Buddhas after being given instruction. Enlightened disciples attain Nirvana and Parinirvana as the two types of Buddhas do. The most generally used term for them is Arahant. One 12th century Theravadin commentary uses the term Savakabuddha to describe the enlightened disciple. According to this scripture there are 3 types of Buddhas. In this case, however, the common definition of the meaning of the word Buddha (as one who discovers the Dhamma without a teacher) does not apply any more. Mainstream Theravadin and Mahayana scriptures do not recognize this term and state there are only two kinds of Buddha. Tony Ha is a freelance writer who writes about buddhism. Does Anyone Out There Really Care About Dover?

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By Karl Giberson Judge John E. Jones IIIs decision in the Dover trial has been heralded as a great victory for science and science education and a major setback for intelligent design and creationism. It is neither of these. The Dover trial is simply the latest certainly not the last in a long line of largely irrelevant and inconsequential legal challenges to the teaching of evolution in America. The most famous of these is certainly the Scopes Trial. Nominally, Scopes lost and was fined in this historic encounter, but the real loser was the teaching of evolution weakened in the wake of the verdict as skittish textbook publishers downplayed the controversial theory. Another celebrated legal encounter occurred in 1982 in Little Rock, Ark., when that state proposed to mandate equal time high school pedagogy, requiring creationism to be taught alongside evolution. The judge concluded that there was no basis for teaching creationism with evolution in Arkansas public schools. In an about-face from Scopes, creationism lost this battle, but continued to dominate the cultural battle among Americans at large. A similar challenge originated in Louisiana in 1987 and eventually made its way to the Supreme Court where, presumably, once and for all, creationism was declared unscientific, religious and not appropriate for Americas high school biology classes. But polls continued to show that Americas rejection of evolution was as widespread as ever. Intelligent design creationisms successor suffered its first major legal defeat in Dover late last year. But like similar legal defeats of its parent species, the defeat means next to nothing to the American public. Polls will continue to show opposition to evolution. The real effect of the Dover ruling will prove to be as inconsequential as its predecessors in Tennessee, Louisiana or Arkansas. Americas battle over evolution is not about science nor even about education. It is about religion, and, as such, can only be understood as a culture war between religion and secularism. The legal hairsplitting we have seen about how science is religiously neutral and religion can be reconciled with evolution is an ivory-tower perspective that may warm the hearts of philosophers but does little to thaw the chill between the culture warriors who disagree. The careful, sober language of Judge Jones stands in marked contrast to the rhetorically charged commentary that has emerged from both sides over the past few decades as religious and secular visions of origins have competed for the allegiance of Americans. Liberal publications produced cartoons heaping ridicule on the opponents of evolution, portraying them as missing links. Anti-religious spokespeople for science described the illiteracy and backwardness of the creationists. Richard Dawkins called creationists cavemen, an insult that Isaac Asimov seconded on the back cover of Dawkins influential book The Blind Watchmaker. In his review of Blueprints in The New York Times, Dawkins charged that people who did not believe in evolution were stupid, wicked, or insane. Dawkins is considered by many to be the leading public intellectual in the English-speaking world, and there are countless other leading anti-religious intellectuals who share his views, such as Daniel C. Dennett, Peter Atkins and Stephen Pinker. Creationists countered that science was trying to undermine religion. Their leader Henry Morris argued in his influential book The Long War Against God that evolution was a part of Satans strategy to destroy faith in God. His views are shared by many of todays influential religious leaders, such as Ken Ham, James Dobson and D. James Kennedy. So, while major confrontations like the Dover trial get headlines and give the impression that important battles are being won and lost, they are really nothing more than highly visible skirmishes while the real battle the one for hearts and minds, not stickers and textbooks continues unabated. By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carly_Charu]Carly Charu The Nokia N80 is probably one of the most widely anticipated mobile phone. This 3G smartphone is based on S60 (third edition) platform and works on Symbian operating system. The handset weighs 134 grams which is decent for a 3G smartphone.
